To strive to increase awareness of pharmacy-related federal and state legislation, educate on how to effectively advocate to legislators and patients, and encourage participation in APhA-ASP policy and advocacy initiatives. By doing we hope will empower student pharmacists to advocate on behalf of the profession of pharmacy and the patients we serve by educating and training chapter members and all UIC students in areas of pharmacy and healthcare-related policy and advocacy.

Develop policy resolutions to be proposed at the APhA-ASP Midyear Regional Meetings.

Engage chapter members in national advocacy initiatives lead by APhA.

Disseminate to chapter members relevant information from APhA and the APhA-ASP Policy Standing Committee about state legislation, regulatory updates, and calls to action.

Support the “Back the PAC” Campaign and develop profitable fundraisers.

Launch American Pharmacists Month events.

Collaborate with the State Association to plan the State Legislative Day and keep chapter members apprised of policy and advocacy issues on the state level.
