President
Courtney Hooten
My name is Courtney Hooten, and I will be serving as your APhA-ASP President on the Rockford campus! My goals for this year include facilitating community engagement, encouraging student knowledge of current pharmacy legislation and policies, and providing the necessary support to our E-board to ensure our events run smoothly. I look forward to seeing what we can accomplish together and hope to see you at our events and GBMs this year.
President Elect
Elizabeth Okyne
Hi everyone, my name is Elizabeth Okyne and I am honored to server as 2021-22 APhA- ASP President Elect on the Rockford campus. I hope to continue the great work that APhA-ASP carries out on both campuses while working towards a more collective voice. My goal is to organize events in which both campuses can participate and members can have a chance to know each other. I hope to bring our efforts to really bring pharmacy to the forefront and further improve our organization's standing at UIC and beyond. In addition, I would like to tap into our alumni network and build connections with outgoing members that can serve as a resource for APhA-ASP.
VP of Finance
Nick Lombardo
My name is Nick Lombardo and I am the Vice President of Finance on the Rockford campus. For this upcoming year, I plan on organizing some fun fundraisers that will help support our chapter. Along with this, I will assist all members of ApHA-ASP in any way that I can to help us get out into the community and make a difference in the world. I cant wait to see where this year takes us!
VP of Communication
Liezl Peterson
My name is Liezl Peterson and I am a P3. I am returning to serve another year in the same position I held previously: APhA-ASP’s VP of Communications on the Rockford campus. I look forward to promoting the many health-awareness events that our officers have in store for 2021-22. In addition to virtual offerings like those we had last year, I can’t wait to get back to holding in-person events where we provide our services to the community. I’ll be publicizing the great works and ideas of my E-Board in the Weekly Dose (APhA-ASP’s Rockford newsletter) and on our social media sites. My goal, as before, is to support my fellow E-Board members whenever possible, to help ensure their visions for improving the health of others is fulfilled.

Alejandro Cisneros-Orozco
Hello everyone my name is Alejandro Cisneros-Orozco and I will be assuming the position of VP of Membership for APhA-ASP! As VP of membership I plan to work closely with the other executive board members to help expand the reach of APhA-ASP and what the organization is all about. APhA leads the profession of pharmacy and equips its members with valuable experiences that help us assume our role as future medication experts, and I am very excited to be serving as an E-board member.

Kurt Gillmeister
Hello, my name is Kurt Gillmeister and I am thrilled to be working with you as we finally begin to return to a normal year of pharmacy school. My role in our organization is to help coordinate social events and to raise funds. I plan to find exciting and safe opportunities for us all to have some fun each semester and relax. I am looking forward to meeting you all and to help provide some opportunities for us to build relationships between our classes as well as our cities.

Cat Hayes
My name is Cat Hayes, and I am the Senior VP of Patient Care. This year, I am really looking forward to working with our incredible e-board to continue improving the health of the community. In this time where so many people are vulnerable, it is now more important than ever to use our ties in the area to make an impact. My goals are to support the Operation Leaders as they educate others about topics in healthcare and to organize events that will reach a large portion of the community. Together, we will be able to keep achieving our mission in these unprecedented circumstances.

My name is Armin Pashaeimofrad and I am the Junior VP of patient care for APhA. Me and Cat plan on working with all other organizations to assure each branch of APhA is working at its full potential. We also plan on doing more patient care events like previous years such as blood pressure and blood glucose screening along with many other events that I can not wait to begin planning for.

Hello everyone! My name is Melivette Feliciano Rivera and I am the Vice President of Operation Diabetes of APhA Student Chapter - Rockford. For this new academic year, I would like to continue the education and awareness in the community about this chronic disease state. I am excited to share and to learn from all of you as we work together to improve the quality of life in the community. Lastly, I am looking forward to being able to create in-person events where we can interact with each other and the community.

Hi everyone, my name is Huy Huynh and I am the VP of operation heart on the rockford campus. My goal this year is to get our patients to be more proactive about their own health,. To achieve this goal, I plan on doing community outreach events such as blood pressure screenings and to provide information and resources that patients can easily access to help keep track of their health progress.

Hello everyone, my name is Shivani Patel and I am excited to be the Vice President of Immunization of APhA Student Chapter -Rockford this year. My plan for this year is to set up flu clinics and information sessions discussing the importance of immunizations. I look forward to collaborating with vice presidents to educate patients and spread awareness, especially with the ongoing pandemic. I am excited to share and learn from all of you as we work together to improve the quality of life in the community. I am looking forward to being able to create in-person events where we can interact with each other and the community.

Hey everyone! I hope you all have gotten a good start to this semester. My name is Nick Patino, I’m a third year pharmacy student at the Rockford campus. This year I will be serving as the VP of Medication Safety / Generation RX. Hi everyone! My name is Ify Njubigbo and I am the Vice President of Legislative Affairs. I believe advocacy is an important pillar of our profession, so I am excited to share my passion for advocacy and policy with all of you. My goals for this year are to highlight current/pending pharmacy legislation and to educate student pharmacists on how they can get involved in advocacy efforts at the state and federal level. I am looking forward to our upcoming events and seeing everyone on campus!
